On February 28, Commission staff attended Jakara Movement’s “Vibe Check” teen mental health conference at Yuba College in Marysville, CA. This conference was an opportunity for nearly 200 teens to come together in a safe space to explore and discuss mental health.

This event offered teens an opportunity through workshops and peer discussion to develop practical tools for wellbeing, breaking stigma, and building a supportive community.

Jakara Movement is the Commission’s K-12 Student Advocacy contractor, with a purpose of working to empower, educate, and organize working-class Punjabi Sikhs, and other marginalized communities.
