During this week, we will engage in discussions on the health complexities of FGM and its impact on Women and Girls.

Our community sensitisation and dialogue with NAMs and local leaders continues. In Foni Jarrol, we engaged in conversations on the findings and facts regarding medical complications of FGM, a harmful traditional practice that continues to affect women and girls in The Gambia.

I’m even more frustrated to see that the people you’re pleading to are mostly men.

Nearly nine years ago I travelled across The Gambia shooting a film with Jaha that ended with the country banning FGM. Today she was in parliament making sure it stays that way. #EndFGM

Incredibly proud of Jaha Marie Dukureh for all that she is doing to keep #FGM banned in Gambia. She has given years to this campaign and it is beyond unfair she has to fight this fight again. The Government of Gambia needs to listen to her and other women, they need to keep the ban.
