Vähän ihmettelen Helsingin kaupunki kilpailutusta, jossa yritys (Solum) aikoo tuottaa kilpailijaan nähden puoleen hintaan kohtuutarkkaan säänneltyä hätämajoituspalvelua. Samaten paperittomien hätämajoitusyksikkö avautui tälle yritykselle.

Toivottavasti menee putkeen.

Why not set up a special European Investment Bank program to tackle #homelessness ?

Almost 1 million people sleep rough or in shelter in EU every night + nr is growing.

Action needed!

The latest health data is astounding.

The average hospital visit for a patient surviving homelessness is ~17,000.

The average cost for supportive housing per month is $3,500.

Housing for all is a matter of human dignity and sound economics.

In this statistic, I am satisfied that we are at the bottom.
Regardless, a lot of work needs to be done in Finland and globally.

I’m worried (as many NGOs) about the challenges Finland’s homelessness work is facing.

The state is cutting:

- NGOs funding
- Social benefits
- Social- & health services
- Affordable housing

Ending homelessness…..we’ll see.
