Biofuels require working land to produce. Powering planes with biofuels requires ALOT of land. There is a finite amount of land. If we expand demand on working land we risk food insecurity & conversion of remaining ecosystems w/loss of carbon & biodiversity. SAF isn't sustainable

Can ag stop focusing on yield?

Not yet, concludes this WRI report. Even with reduced food waste, diet changes, and less biofuel production, we still need productivity increases to avoid cropland expansion.

We definitely can't allow yields to decrease.

If you are interested in how to feed the world, deal with climate change, and avoid expansion of cropland, this report is a good read. The authors give alternative views and then explain why they don't rely on them.
A reasonable overview of our global agricultural challenge.

The best outcomes in the world are those that lead to positive benefits for people, nature and climate (together, not one at the expense of the other!). Today World Resources Inst celebrated its top 10 outcomes. Congratulations to all our winners for helping us all win!

Land is not free when it comes to GHGs. Scaling the use of land-intensive products like biofuels contribute to the conversion of natural ecosystems, loss of their stored Carbon & biodiversity. There are also negative consequences for food security... Dan Lashof World Resources Inst

A very warm welcome to Alexander Bassen who will lead GHG Protocol's new Independent Standards Board. Never underestimate the importance of honest GHG accounting to drive action that actually moves the needle on emissions/removals.

The Fossil fuel industry spread 3 myths to scare politicians at - it’s working.1. We need them for energy security. 2. We can't meet demand without them. 3. Carbon Capture & Storage will save them. Read Ani Dasgupta’s op-ed in TIME for a debunk shorturl.at/ctIOX

Real Climate Cost of Mass Timber. Concrete/steel are major GHG sources piquing interest in timber as a substitute. New World Resources Inst report finds that using wood to replace concrete/steel may not be as climate/ environmentally friendly as you think. rb.gy/7lst7
