“Attached” is right. I literally have never seen a diagnosis removed from a chart. I wouldn’t even know where to start. And that’s how it all gets billed. And then you read a large code-based chart review. And guess what’s being used to train our glorious AI overlords?

Physician owned hospitals fall into that category as well.

Oftentimes, there's a lot of daylight between the "right" thing and the "best possible" thing. We see this clinically, when we can't fix but we can mitigate; when we can't cure but we can palliate. We see this economically, when the reality of scarcity dictates resource

I went to a State school. I was not defined by my participation in extracurriculars. Preparing for the midterms and other exams forced me to engage with material whether I enjoyed it or not. It worked.

Thursday is so-named as the day of Thor, the Norse god of thunder. Interestingly, the name actually comes from an Old English translation of Jovis dies, "day of Jupiter," as they equated Thor with Jupiter, also god of thunder. Also, it's a great day to reject cynicism.
