I went to a State school. I was not defined by my participation in extracurriculars. Preparing for the midterms and other exams forced me to engage with material whether I enjoyed it or not. It worked.

Thursday is so-named as the day of Thor, the Norse god of thunder. Interestingly, the name actually comes from an Old English translation of Jovis dies, "day of Jupiter," as they equated Thor with Jupiter, also god of thunder. Also, it's a great day to reject cynicism.
