"If you would kindly rip up the regulatory system, move the goalposts on sewage and spills and promise not to fine us too much, we’d be delighted to rescue Thames Water." Are Thames Water’s creditors are being too greedy? Oh yes they are... theguardian.com/business/nils-…

A woman with schizophrenia has been convicted of not paying her TV Licence during mental health difficulties sparked by her mum's illness Here's a good example of why I think the BBC is wrong to oppose a key reform to the Single Justice Procedure

Ahead of the expected proscription of Palestine Action - the first time a protest group has been legally redefined as terrorist - I went through the Hansard of the 2000 Act they're being banned under. Turns out MPs were assured the law wouldn't be applied this way. Thread 🧵🔽

Jeremy Corbyn - an MP for 42 years - has been on #bbcqt 5 times (twice on 'Leader's specials'). Nigel Farage - an MP for less than a year - has been on 38 times. Zarah Sultana - an MP for 6 years - has never been on. Tell me again how BBC Question Time is fair and impartial.

Some people are suddenly very opposed to cloud seeding and all forms of weather modification. Boy, are those people going to be upset when they realize how fossil fuel burning has been changing the composition of the atmosphere and modifying the weather for everyone.

Not coincidentally, one of the things that Putin did soon after taking power was force comedy shows off the air. The popular NTV show Puppets was shut down in 2002, and its writer Viktor Shenderovich - who had often satirised Putin - had to flee into exile.
