Clearing out the family home is hard. What to keep, what to let go of.
My dad was a voracious reader and I’d read his books. Packing them up, it hit me how many were about state corruption. The irony.
This was the defining one for me. Integrity is a keeper.

We can be certain that some HSC staff and organisations as a whole strategically abused the pandemic as an excuse to slack off on services and hide behind poor performance. We just can’t know to what extent.
Some organisations are still at it. This is today 👇

JM Reid Northern Ireland Assembly Committee for Health The meek, lowly and unrepresented will fall foul of pretence. No one else. Please God for strong advocating nurses and social teams #YouAreNotAlone #ReadyWhenYouAreSafe
Deirdre Heenan No of NI Health Trusts? 5 Trusts
Equivalent 🇬🇧 population size = 1 Trust.
Average admin/senior management cost per Trust = £2-3M.
Times * 5 = £15M.
£15M would reduce quite a lot of waiting lists.
Let’s have some efficiency in HSCNI instead of bloated sacred cows.
These self-praise events are rampant across HSCNI.
Inappropriate & unnecessary at any time but esp now when HSC leaders are giving the public & Northern Ireland Assembly Committee for Health one sob story after another about hospitals in crisis
How many extra ED staff or hip ops could be covered?
#teampatient
This is now an almost day and daily post.
Who would want to sit hours on end in such dreadful environments?
How many are sent unnecessarily to EDs by GPs?
Addressing the many internal inefficiencies would help much more than this type of post.

Another tweet from BelTrust gaslighting the public for its own failures.
This should be a tweet to staff to get discharges sorted and an apology to pts & families for the hours they’re held back in hosp, waiting on final checks, forms, meds, this, that & the other.

Good to hear RCN’s Rita Devlin on Talkback today calling the term ‘bed blockers’ disrespectful.
In this video, the words bed blocker and elderly aren’t used but we know who they mean. Sad music for added effect.
Even without the words, the disrespectful attitude is there.
Marie-Louise Connolly Gareth Roberts Usual…..all deliberation & no action. It’s (almost) as frustrating on the clinical / health professional side of the equation.
2 cases reported in two days of ‘locker room’ patient experiences in Altnagelvin.
Again, DoH says it will carry out a ‘review’. It really should provide definitions of the words they use. How does a ‘review’ differ from an ‘investigation’?

JM Reid I find it a difficult watch too given the repetitiveness of the message yet no real time change or improvement behind it. If the focus, “no excuses” attitude & comparable resources of digital system roll out was put towards current health crisis it could be resolved expeditiously
Belfast Trust Can you please let the Southern Trust see this? My mum has been in Craigavon Hospital for 5 days in pain waiting on a ultrasound scan. She is in a bed someone else could have. Such a waste of resource and tax payers money.
In 2015 Robert Francis in his FTSU report came to essentially the same conclusion as Alan Bates in #PostOfficeInquiry The NHS was run by Thugs in Suits. He handed that conclusion to Jeremy Hunt Department of Health and Social Care who left staff and patients to their fate. CQCProf National Guardian's Office 💙
