Now available Journal of Law & Courts! In this article I examine the unprecedented disagreement in Obergefell v. Hodges over the meaning of human dignity. Doing so reveals the role dignity plays as a foundational—though extra-textual—value for justices as dissimilar as Kennedy & Thomas.
