For the past two years, World Health Organization (WHO) Member States have been drafting a pandemic preparedness agreement that was expected to be voted on at this year’s World Health Assembly. This represented a monumental global endeavor to improve health emergency response and preparedness.

No woman should die giving birth. In Kigoma region, #Tanzania, maternal mortality was on the rise due to difficulty accessing health facilities. Thanks to Ambassador Tone Tinnes and WHO Tanzania maternal mortality has been reduced in the region.
