A common issue that I see among the thousands of people I have had deep conversations about regarding their mental health issues is often ignored sexual abuse. When they bring it up, it is often treated as a symptom of their mental issues, not probably an underlying cause.

As many know, I recently had brain surgery to remove a tumor because I have brain cancer. A few days ago, someone picked a fight, started yelling at me & accused me of manipulating them when I started to stutter. I ended up having a seizure. I'm still upset. I hate being so weak.

This resonates with me and my values but just remember that helping someone lie to themselves isn't kindness. Sometimes what someone really needs to hear is something they don't like at all.
