Jeremiah 1 God told Jeremiah that He knew him & had a divine purpose for his life before He formed him in the womb. God told him not to be afraid because He would direct him, give him His words and be with him to deliver him from his battles. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 2 God told Jeremiah how Israel defiled His land and went far from Him with whom they were once so devoted. They forsook God and chased worldly things which He calls evil. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 2 Despite her unfaithfulness, God called Israel to return to Him in humility so He could show her mercy and they could call Him Father. He promised to provide them leadership and teachers for their healing and salvation-our greatest needs. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 4 God called Israel back to Him and away from their idolatry, but He requires repentance from the heart. God made it clear they were guilty, but they could be washed and saved. They grieved God’s heart by persisting in their foolishness. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 5 Jeremiah says that there is no one in Jerusalem who is righteous. They don’t know God’s ways, their sins are many, and they refuse to repent. God promised judgement, that He would spare some, and they would serve strangers as a consequence. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 6 God warned Jerusalem, but they refused to listen They were greedy, dishonest, shameless, and rebellious. God called them to return to His ways where they would find rest for their souls. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 7 God called Judah to amend their ways and deeds, practice justice, not to oppress the alien, widow, and orphan, not to shed innocent blood, nor chase other gods. He said to obey His voice and walk in all His ways, then He will be their God. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 8 God condemns Judah’s apostasy. He foretells His judgment for deceit, refusing to return, not repenting, rejecting the word of the Lord, and greed for gain. Jeremiah mourns the suffering of his people, but acknowledged there was no remedy. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 9:23 The wise man should not boast in his wisdom, strength, or wealth, but in that he knows the Lord and His lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness on earth. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 10 God told Israel not to imitate other nations by fearing idols. They can’t do harm or good. There is one true God who created everything. There is no one like Him. He is eternal, immortal, omniscient, omnipotent, and sovereign. He will judge all men. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 11 God warned His people through Jeremiah of the consequences of breaking their covenant and worshipping idols. He warned them of disaster to come and plotted to kill their prophet rather than repent. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 12 Jeremiah asked what we all wonder: Why do the wicked prosper? God told him to stop complaining. God’s purpose in our trials is development, relationship, endurance, & faith. No shortcuts! Don’t worry, He will judge the wicked. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 13 God used a new linen wasteband to show Jeremiah how He would destroy the pride of His people because they refused to listen. He promised to scatter them because they served other gods, trusted in falsehood, and forgot the Lord. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 14 God used a drought to reach the hearts of His people. They couldn’t see their sins until they testified against them. God told Jeremiah He wouldn’t listen to their prayers even though they fasted. He was, and always is, after our hearts. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 15 Sin cannot exist in God’s presence. He won’t tolerate it! So, He told Jeremiah that His heart would not be with Judah & he should send them away to their destined consequences. Jeremiah prayed and feasted on God’s word and God promised to restore him. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 16 God prohibited Jeremiah from getting married and having kids because He had already declared judgment on Judah for idolatry and disobedience. They were destined for disease, violence, and famine because they followed their own evil hearts. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 17 We cannot trust our heart because it is sick, but blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord. God will search his heart and heal it. He will be our refuge and not let us be put to shame. Stay strong! #ThroughTheBible #Joshua19

Jeremiah 18 God sent Jeremiah to the potter’s house to show him that His people are like clay in the potter’s hands. He is able to make what He wants of us and He knows best the plans He has for us. He promised calamity for His people who choose evil. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 19 God sent Jeremiah with a message of judgment for Judah. He had him smash a potter’s jar to demonstrate the destructive and irreversible damage that disobedience causes. #ThroughTheBible

Jeremiah 20 Jeremiah was beaten and held in stocks for obeying God. He complained to God, but still maintained that God’s Word was in his heart, burning, and he couldn’t hold it in. #ThroughTheBible
