I consider Cortana's unashamed nudity to be an integral part of her character that speaks to both her competence and divinity in the mythos. It contrasts heavily with the other protagonist who is sealed head to toe in MJOLNIR. Halo 4 understood this dynamic well.

What makes the setting of 'Streets of Fire' interesting is that it takes place in the 1980s if the 60s & 70s never happened. It wasn't marketed that way and it's not really a ham-fisted gimmick in the film either. It's the closest you'll ever see "Archeofuturism" in action.
