We as employees representing SaltWire in PEI have officially filed for Union certification with the PEI Labour Board following an overwhelming majority of workers signing Union cards on Oct. 25!

We represent workers in multiple networking departments The Guardian and Journal Pioneer who have come together in order improve working conditions to better bring Islanders through-provoking community stories!

Workers have faced unreasonable delays for decisions before P.E.I.'s labour board. In our case, our union application has taken 9 months without a decision rendered. These delays have interfered with our ability to express our democratic rights at work. See below:
