Intrepid Museum educators partnered with National WWII Museum for 'Teaching World War II Through Diverse Voices' where they used primary sources and historic images as a guide to inspire teachers to teach about historical empathy and the fight for desegregation during World War II.

On this day in 1979, Space Shuttle Enterprise was rolled out from the Vehicle Assembly Building to Launch Complex 39 at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Although it did not launch from the pad, Enterprise was used to conduct fit checks and launch pad procedures.
We recognize the service of crew members who trace their roots to Asia and the Pacific Islands. Germiniano Tubao served on Intrepid from 1961-1962 as a steward for the ship's captain. He was born in the Philippines, and his U.S. Navy career took him around the world. #AAPIMonth

#OTD 4/27/2012: #SpaceShuttle #Enterprise arrived in NYC atop a NASA Aircraft. It flew over all 5 boroughs and past many #NYC landmarks, including the #StatueOfLiberty and Central Park. It landed at John F. Kennedy Airport before making its journey to its new home at the Intrepid Museum
