Having enjoyed Carnival Day, Beavers & Cubs have returned from Larkin Jamboree buzzing with excitement! Many were nervous but have come back happy having made new friends & tried new activities. Leaders have been showered with thanks & praise - Well done, Team Ingleborough'!

Settle Scouts have been cooking cheese dreams, bacon butties, blackbirds (fried jam sandwiches) and fried Nutella sarnies which all went down a treat! They also enjoyed learning how to tie knots so they could race chariots around their headquarters! North Yorkshire Scouts Settle Website

Troop Solves Knotty Problem! Castleberg Scouts have been busy with ropes once again! This time it was a 3D puzzle evening when they learnt the highwayman’s hitch, sheepshank, one handed bowline, as well as how to tie a sheepshank during a tug of war contest! North Yorkshire Scouts
Settle Cubs enjoyed learning about the Chinese New Year. A parent told the legend of the monster Lian, another showed them how to use chopsticks. Cubs made Fu character posters, New Year cards & Dragon masks, all accompanied with Chinese music North Yorkshire Scouts Scouts Settle Stories
Whittling, the satisfying art of carving wood, is also a great way to learn safe knife skills so Settle Explorers embarked on spoon making. Starting from a tree trunk, repeatedly shaving slithers with perseverance and patience, resulted in some pleasing results. North Yorkshire Scouts
