May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month! Communication is essential to our everyday lives. However, some people may not use spoken language. There are many other ways of communicating, each of which is valid and has a place in our society.

With heavy hearts, we mourn Sir Robert Martin, a disability rights champion and pioneer of the self-advocacy movement.

As one of the first self-advocates on our Council and the first CRPD Committee member with an intellectual disability, he raised voices for inclusion globally.

$200/month is not enough.  $1000 would be better, but still leaves many below the poverty line.

We support this petition, but would suggest that $1000 be a minimum.
