In grade 7 we are making prototypes of cars that will run with a motor. We’ll race them later but today… today was an epic day learning how to solder 👩🏼‍🏭 #MYPDesign

We’ve started working with VEX robotic kits in grade 6! After researching some real #robots that help people, we’ve dived into the #VEX kits to play around. Later, we will choose a specific task(a mission), then build & #code our #bots to solve it!

Grade 8s had a fun class today - learning how to thread a sewing machine, gathering materials that were headed for the bin (old algebra textbooks which they were thrilled to rip apart), & starting the first steps in making #upcycled fashion items for our Trashion Show in December

Our #mypdesign Trashion Show is slowly (actually… quickly) approaching. So much creativity and risk taking as Ss tackle new challenges and learn new skills. So far we’ve got 2 MCs, 2 videographers, and a list of models emerging.

Here are some ‘finished’ prototypes for our #MYPDesign Race Car Challenge unit. This unit was focused on #iterations and #prototyping using inexpensive materials (recycled stuff!)
