A new masjid has been opened in Istanbul's Taksim Square despite opposition from people who wanted it to remain a secular area.

The inner scaffolding which were being used to restore the Ayasofya masjid have been removed 😍

On this day, the famous Ottoman Stari Most (literally ‘Old Bridge’) in Mostar, #Bosnia and Herzegovina, was destroyed during the Croat-Bosniak war.

The beautiful bridge was commissioned by Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent in 1557.

It was later rebuilt and completed in 2004
