Since 13th April 2021, the long-term, inclusive artwork has been experienced by millions of people.

The making of Illuminated River saw @FMConwayLtd transporting materials to site by river and using specialist abseiling teams to minimise disruption to bridge users.

The City Bridge Foundation, in partnership with the The Poetry Society, is seeking its first-ever poet-in-residence – to celebrate in verse the vital role of the charity, whilst drawing inspiration from the bridges in the city of London.

This is Lambeth Bridge before and after #IlluminatedRiver , showing how Leo Villareal’s light installation gently transforms the bridges at night.

The artwork infuses the steel arches and Cornish granite piers of the 1932 bridge with a warm red-pink glow.

The Thames Lens Winners Exhibition at Woods Quay London celebrated winners and runners up of the 2023 photography competition in style.

“London under the night sky and its reflections on the river have a magical radiance that never fail to inspire,” says London artist @suchi_chidambaram.

Lighter evenings are a great opportunity to witness #IlluminatedRiver coming to life as dusk falls.

The lights remain switched on every night until 2am – so there’s plenty of time to explore all nine bridges in the artwork.

Great fun was had by all on our free #IlluminatedRiver walking tour with Team London Bridge this week!

Participants enjoyed an evening stroll from Millennium Bridge to London Bridge led by a @colguide who offered insightful stories on the history of the bridges.

New dates have been added for the Uber Boat by Thames Clippers Illuminated River Official Boat Tours – until May 2024!

The circular tour, which departs from Tower Pier at 21:30 every Saturday, glides past all nine bridges, from London to Lambeth.
