It was a very proud moment today as, after many years of hard graft, we finally received the keys for Malachi Place! We have now taken possession of the building and are looking forward to getting to the most important milestone - moving people in!!

In Nov 2018 we pledged to keep shelter open continuously until Project Malachi opened.. admittedly we didn’t realise it would then be another 16 months before it was ready 🤪 but thank God, we’re nearly there! So proud of our volunteers, providing 23 spaces each night 🙌🏼

Here’s the BBC report on Malachi Place. Malachi wrote to Ilford Salvation Army with his £5 and said to build homes for people on the street. We took him seriously! With a powerful partnership between The Salvation Army and Redbridge Council we have shown good can be done 🙌🏼
