Redbridge Cold Weather Centre Commonweal Housing Ashley Horsey Yes - we now have 3 versions of the pod - with the designs available for free if your shelter is run by a charity or local authority. This smaller version is a great addition to the family. Please get in touch for more information.
So exciting to see how a volunteer’s vision has changed the provision at the The Salvation Army nightshelter at Ilford Salvation Army - great work George
So proud to have supported this evolution of our #Pods project by George with Reed Watts Architects for Redbridge Cold Weather Centre. Guests now have greater privacy and the chance to "take ownership of the small space they have" > ilfordrecorder.co.uk/news/redbridge…
'Sometimes I am really miserable because I didn’t get a good night’s sleep.' Will, who is 10 and homeless, lives in a single room of an emergency bed and breakfast with his mum, dad and younger brother. He told the The Mirror what it is like for him. shltr.org.uk/hw3
Here’s Dr Omar from PELC at the first GP Outreach session yesterday for people facing street homelessness, which has been commissioned by @RedbridgeCCG - 8 patients were seen and benefited from this brand new service! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 IlfordCitizens The Salvation Army

This is one of my favourite memories of you as MP, Mike Gapes ⚒🇺🇦🇬🇧 when you visited Redbridge Cold Weather Centre and spent a long evening at Ilford Salvation Army playing board games with some of the guys who were facing homelessness. Thank you for everything you did to encourage our work and ministry.
We were so heartwarmed to hear this news from the Ilford Recorder on our #Pods, developed with Reed Watts Architects and now evolving with George at the Redbridge Cold Weather Centre! ilfordrecorder.co.uk/news/redbridge…
Project Malachi Congratulations, Malachi Justin and the project have been chosen as one of our top 100 #Changemakers featured in this week's special edition of The Big Issue! 🏆 Find out more about what it means to be a Big Issue Changemaker here: bigissue.com/latest/top-100…
A short clip from a video i'm creating showing the sleeping pods that I designed for the Salvation Army shelter (adapted from an original design by Reed Watts Architects and funded by Commonweal Housing) The video will show the design, installation, and interviews with the homeless guests
Volunteers are hard at work this week getting the rooms ready for people to move in! This has been an amazing community effort and we are looking forward to celebrating on March 14th - please join Ilford Salvation Army & Redbridge Council! RSVP at popuphostel.org
In Nov 2018 we pledged to keep shelter open continuously until Project Malachi opened.. admittedly we didn’t realise it would then be another 16 months before it was ready 🤪 but thank God, we’re nearly there! So proud of our volunteers, providing 23 spaces each night 🙌🏼
Here’s the BBC report on Malachi Place. Malachi wrote to Ilford Salvation Army with his £5 and said to build homes for people on the street. We took him seriously! With a powerful partnership between The Salvation Army and Redbridge Council we have shown good can be done 🙌🏼
