Often, what happened after an event is what actually causes the trauma. Did people believe you? Were you shamed? Did you have emotional support? Most people see trauma as what happens to us, when it’s actually: how did people respond to us.

Screaming, crying. Congratulations @realSarahPolley (she/her) for winning a #Oscar for best adapted screenplay for the stunning film #WomenTalking. It is truly a love letter to survivors. #Oscar2023

'I just want to thank the Academy for not being mortally offended by the words 'Women' and 'Talking' so close together like that' — Sarah Polley, upon accepting the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for 'Women Talking' #Oscars

Women Talking is one of my favourite films of 2023. It is told with precision, care and nuance. Rarely are films about sexual violence and community betrayal like this - one that does not focus on what is done to us as women but on how we heal, grieve and fight.

Farrah Khan (@farrahsafiakhan) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Sexual violence within families is rarely discussed. How we fail one another, how we are forced to protect those that harm us for the “good of the community,” and how we feel betrayed by those that are supposed to love us.

A bit of a vulnerable share but if you are a solo founder that has found some balance between the real stress that comes with all of your responsibilities *and* sustaining your health — please send tips 🙏🏽

One of the sadder symptoms of not having been treated well in childhood is a remarkable tolerance – perhaps even an appetite – for not being treated well by partners in adulthood. Why does this happen? And can the pattern be broken? A thread.

While Peterson should be free to build his hateful little "free speech" empire, it's especially concerning to see one of our top elected officials idolize him with “Men Going Their Own Way” tags in tow. Hope victims of yesterday's attack heal quickly. globalnews.ca/news/9799815/u…

Is it important to have a cofounder? The VC Council (ie chat gpt) says yes! Seriously, ⁦David Nault⁩ brings up the important point of reverse vesting for founders to protect the startup in case one leaves. #startupfest
