Thank you Catriona Laing, for expressing appreciation to President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor for recently signing a law banning FGM in Galmudug. Ifrah Foundation has long been advocating for the enactment of an FGM ban. We extend our gratitude to #GS & encourage other FMS & FGS to follow suit
In collaboration with AmplifyChange, we facilitated a second gathering of CSOs in Mogadishu to advocate for the FGM bill & develop action plans. The event, attended by government officials, CSOs, and women's groups, aimed to enhance their advocacy and movement-building skills.
In collaboration with UNFPA Somalia & with funding from The Gov't of Japan, we conducted a workshop on GBV community mobilization in Dharkenley using 'SASA! Together' awareness phase approach. 57 local GBV activists were equipped with knowledge & skills for GBV prevention & mitigation.

We wrapped up our #SASATogether awareness phase training with 15 dedicated participants from key institutions. Thanks to The Gov't of Japan funding, we're strengthening institutional capacity & forging new, inclusive mechanisms to better provide SRH/GBV services to affected populations.
#Kismayo: With support from AmplifyChange, we conducted a series of community discussion sessions focused on FGM. 40 participants engaged in 4 comprehensive sessions. The aim was to uphold positive norms, prevent negative practices, & develop community-led solutions to #endFGM.
With support from AmplifyChange,we facilitated the engagement of 20 media boot camp graduates with the media in Muqdisho, focusing on best practices for combating FGM & advocating the anti-FGM bill in Som. They recognized their significant potential impact on the anti-FGM movement
