In English, Year 8 students have been debating key themes in Lord of the Flies. One class developed its critical thinking skills in a silent debate on their desks while a different group took part in a corridor debate about civility and savagery. Great work, Year 8!

Year 7 students have been developing gymnastics routines in PE. The finished routines showed a lot of creativity and variety! Here's just a small sample of what they made.

In Geography, Year 7 students have created some fantastic designs for the UK Polar Network's 'Flags for Antarctica' competition. We had over 100 entries and had to narrow it down to eight. Here are the winners! The next time we see these flags, they will be in Antarctica!

This month, the theme of the library's book club was Christmas. Students enjoyed three activities, making a Grinch Christmas card, a snow globe bauble and a reindeer cake. It was a great success, with 25 students taking part.

Many congratulations to everyone involved in Wednesday's Winter Showcase event. It was great to hear so many fantastic acts! Special thanks to the staff, students, governors and friends of Icknield who joined the orchestra for our "live to film" performance of The Snowman.

To mark this year's #BlackHistoryMonthUK, a group of Year 8 and 9 students responded to the work of Sam Gilliam throughout October. The exhibition space changed and developed as the workshops progressed throughout the month.

In MFL this week, Year 7 students have been enjoying independent listening using our new headphones while our Year 9s have been honing their translation skills.
