The storm Gods have been looking kindly on the North East Essex coast over the last couple of days and today was no exception with three storms passing by between 3.30pm and 6pm. My lightning photo itch has been scratched! Met Office - UK Dan Holley #StormHour #photo #stormhour

Auroras made a return to the mid-lats last night in a spectacular way. We were treated to beautiful overhead corona, and this thunderstorm during recovery phase north of Fisher, Minnesota. #MNwx #aurora

1/ Thread: Weekend setup looks interesting for some convective potential across southern England. The jet stream looks to amplify as a strengthening upper-level ridge migrates towards the UK. Ahead of this ridge we will see a trough to our SW. #ukweather #thunderstorms

Good job there's plenty of capacity in the rivers! 🤔 Must be some #flooding about though... what have you heard? Almost 100mm at Cwm Dyli and several places with over 75mm, since 1pm on the 19th.
