Basically if you say Palestinians are human beings with a right to freedom, nationhood, peace, dignity, and their land, you will be censored on Twitter. Eventually it will happen to you all. Unless you support the ongoing (for 100 years) genocide of Palestinians, you’re gone.

All of which is to say, understand how pretexts work and don't work, and you'll have more clarity about what is happening in this war.

The US doesn't get everything ready for a war and wait for the enemy to give a pretext. They decide on what to do based on their (sometimes delusional) assessments of the balance of power, and then they do it, and manufacture consent as needed.

On the other hand, if there is something they don't want to do, a pretext won't make them do it. That's why Netanyahu cannot 'force the US into war'.
