Last night our Allies+ Lead, together with our Role Model & Intersectionality Lead hosted an event around visibility & #rolemodels in both our #ally and #LGBT+ communities. The event was truly inspiring, and if you’re not talking about visible role models, you should ask why.

This was such a thought provoking watch. Upsetting to hear one of the guys looking for a role say “no one’s reminded of themselves when they look at me” re. being interviewed for roles.

I hated this part. When I was younger I heard on the radio that you were least likely 2 get a job if you had a Birmingham accent, which I do. It’s not a nice feeling during assessment centres & you sort of already half give up. My advice would be don’t, be you & you’ll get there.

Exactly right. It’s 1 thing changing the recruitment process but if the culture inside remains the same people will leave or their engagement will be ridiculously low. It’s not difficult to mimic someone else however it is to be your true self, but that’s when the magic happens.

You can call me old-fashioned, but I enjoy updating my apps one by one. Most of the realase notes are sth among the lines of "bug fixes", nothing too exciting. Cheers to Monzo 🏦 for ingenuity and for promoting such incredible technology pioneers like #GraceHopper 🙌🏻
