The #wildflower meadow is pumping now. Stuffed with pollinators large and small. The fifth year of this SevernTrentLife funded biodiversity habitat creation. Money well spent I’d say (and not much cost either really, small change!)

Might not be the best crop of hay ever but within minutes we had four Red Kites, 3 buzzards and 3 seagulls. So someone likes it!! In fact a Kite was so surprised to see me that it dropped its catch…. An unlucky toad!

The 4th heatwave of the summer. Didn’t think I’d get such a good window again for my final batch of hay. This time the wildflower meadow. Didn’t take long for the kites to arrive. Luckily we left lots of corners, central safe zone and margins for everything to hide in.

What a year for hedgerow berries. Four year old hedge proving it’s worth for nature this year. Absolutely laden with haws and sloes. A real highlight of our time here. Planting hedges and watching them explode with life. Funded by you. Thank you. (Through CS Mid Tier)

For every retweet of this post, I will donate £1 to the Victoria Cross and George Cross Association up to £50,000. Time is running out following Imperial War Museums’s decision to close the Lord Ashcroft Gallery. Visit while you still can, to honour the bravery of those who risked so much to protect our great nation.

The cold air this morning certainly focussed my attention on filling the shed with firewood. On the scavenge for ash amongst this fallen oak.

Fiona Lali Fiona Lali The Russian Revolution didn't change the world for the better. It drowned it in blood. What Lenin achieved wasn't liberation but the first great rehearsal of totalitarianism – a system that murdered its way to power, crushed freedom, and called the ruins "progress."

There's a line in a democracy that, once crossed, changes everything: when elections cease to be an obligation and become a variable. That line has now been crossed in Britain, and it's the state's own elections watchdog saying so. The Electoral Commission has been explicit:

A group of left wing basement dwellers tried to ruin our Restore Britain launch event last night by block-booking tickets with no intention of showing up. We found their Facebook group organising it all, and matched all the names on that to their tickets. Quite simple at that
