1/2: After reports shared with BK and myself that ICE agents are detaining individuals at the Chesterfield courthouse, we went there this morning to observe. A source described men who they believed to be ICE. We approached them in the hallway and asked if they’re ICE..

there are parts of the city that will feel even hotter than these temperatures because of their design, and some people can't avoid being outside because they rely on public transit or because of their job. we should invest heavily in heat management and mitigation strategies.

.Brandon Jarvis did approach the possible agents and ask if they were ICE -they matched descriptions given to us- they said they couldn't comment/confirm/deny. Big takeaway? Folks are being taken, and those takings are being hidden from the public. /end

I’m back at Chesterfield County courthouse where a a small group of people are protesting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s taking of more people. #valeg We’ve heard 6 agents are in the building and at least one person is scheduled to be removed. We also heard Proud Boys may be showing up.

Happening now: A small crowd has gathered at the Chesterfield County courthouse to protest yesterday’s deportations of immigrants by ICE

VDH just updated the heat-related illness dashboard to include 6/24. There were 239 HRIs in Virginia yesterday. That's more than any single heat event that I can see in the data back to 2015. Historic heat means historic impact.
