We had a very exciting week here UTSW Radiation Oncology as we finished treating our last patient on the H&N DARTBOARD trial! This randomized ph II study is comparing daily adaptive RT and near-marginless treatment (1 mm PTV) with standard IGRT using CBCT-based ART (Ethos) for H&N SqCC.

Today was the birthday of our Chief Physicist Steve Jiang. We had a suprise party, and all dressed as Steve to celebrate. Thanks to Mu-Han Lin and David Parsons for the idea and our admins for organizing. UTSW Radiation Oncology
Dr. Viktor Iakovenko, PhD, has co-authored an American Association of Physicists in Medicine TG-385 report, “Addendum to the AAPM's TG-51 protocol for clinical reference dosimetry of high-energy electron beams,” which will help clinical medical physicists to streamline calibration procedures and assess uncertainty budget.
HUG and GMKA are grateful to Jan Seuntjens, Ph.D. & the Princess Margaret team and Dr. Dylan Breitkreutz with the Sunnybrook Hospital team for organizing the observership and extending their kind welcome. Many thanks to Dr. Viktor Iakovenko, PhD for coordinating the project!
Dr. Viktor Iakovenko, PhD, Assistant Professor, recently spoke at a webinar where he discussed features of MR-guided radiation therapy systems in the presence of strong magnetic field, which drives considerations for equipment selection and quality assurance program development.
