I spoke with BBC East recently to discuss the health and economic benefits of UK government investment into science. We’re in a golden age of cancer research, but more support is required to speed up and transform cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

The increasing costs of visas are making it more difficult for the world’s best scientists to work in the UK and is taking vital funds away from frontline research. Across Cancer Research UK’s four core-funded institutes, the combined cost has risen by over £200,000 in the past year alone.
