About 31 III B.sc Forestry students and faculties from Forestry college of Ponnampet, Kodagu visited Tissue Culture Lab at ICFRE-IWST on 30th April 2024.

ICFRE-IWST celebrated Earth day 2024 by planting Rosewood saplings in the campus and encouraging staff to grow more trees and save the planet. Our Planet documentary was also screened in this occasion to create awareness among staff and students.

About 22 students of class 5 to 12 from summer camp of Maharani Lakshmi Ammani College, Bangalore visited laboratories, plant nursery, workshops, museum and AWTC at ICFRE-IWST on 18 April 2024 with a view to encourage and expose them to build a career in science.

About 35 no’s RFO trainees of 2023-25 10th batch from Telangana State Forest Academy, Dulapally, Hyderabad visited Tissue culture Lab, Nursery, Wood workshop, Advanced Wood Training Centre, at ICFRE-IWST Bangalore on 16th April 2024.

ICFRE-IWST, Bangalore celebrated 133rd birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar by lightening the lamp and floral tribute to the chief architect of the Indian constitution by Dr. M.P. Singh Director. All Official / Staff/ students were attended the programme.

Under the chairmanship of Dr M. P. Singh, Director, ICFRE-IWST, a tripartite brain storming session was held on 26 Mar 2024 between scientists of IWST,officials of Central Pulp & Paper Research Institute and Harihar Polyfibers regarding utilization of bamboo for rayon grade pulp.

Under the AICRP Bamboo project ICFRE-IWST, B'lore in association with Karnataka Forest Dept, NR.Pura Koppal taluk, conducted a training on Bamboo Primary Processing,pest & disease management & value addition of Bamboo for about 100 forest dept officials & farmers on 13 March 2024

ICFRE-IWST, B'lore organized one day training program on 'Bamboo primary processing,Pest &dieses management,it's products value addition' for farmers through KVK, Mudigere, chikkamangalore dist on 12th March 2024 under Campa Extension Funding. More than 75 farmers participated.
