Thrilled to join my fellow ISROC network instructors at the St. Croix ISROC Field School! 🌊✈️ Only days away from my first visit to the US Virgin Islands. I can't wait to see these stunning places in person. What a wonderful teaching opportunity! #ISROCfieldschool2024 #TA #PhD

Yesterday there was a fantastic #ISROC public lecture by Dr. @Ronadh_Cox and Dr. Greg Guannel focusing on 1) what ISROC is 2) why we are here on St. Croix 3) the importance of #coastalboulderdeposits 4) and other related aspects of coastline changes relevant for the USVI

As mentioned, at the #ISROC field school we learned about #saltponds. Pictured are the hypersaline microbial mats, which are analogs of early Earth. We also discussed how the salt pond was recently cored (2018) to look for tsunami deposits. #ISROCfieldschool2024

ISROC network The Field School started a week today on St.Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. This Network brought together a good number of coastal researchers and geoscientists from universities across the world. I also joined as a PhD participant from the Dublin City University. Thrilling!

ISROC network The opportunity was an essential conduit to share ideas, build multidisciplinary partnerships, and teamwork, to enhance our understanding of our coasts. Focus was placed on the observations of changes and impacts in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Undoubtedly flawless!
