It is with fine form on this Meet the Team Monday that we ‘ack’ our team member, James Zeppa! James joined ISN Maskwa in March 2023. Fun Fact: When not creating paperwork for the team to fill out, James is a ranked pool shark & has been known to travel to play tournaments.

ISN Maskwa completed a Wildland Firefighter Training course last week, traveling to Moose Cree First Nation to meet & work with their crew! Noteworthy - Some of the trainees have experience supporting wildfires in the past. Congratulations to this amazing group of graduates!

Today we tee off Meet the Team Monday on a Tuesday! Introducing, Gerry Demeules! Gerry joined ISN Maskwa a year ago and has been an ace Incident Commander with ISN Maskwa. In addition to Incident Command, Gerry is the lead trainer on our Wildland Firefighter training courses.

International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples! On this day we bring awareness & strive to help protect the rights of the world's Indigenous population, the achievements & contributions that Indigenous people make to improve world issues & preserving traditional knowledge.

Our team attended Missanabie Cree FN's Annual Gathering to represent & talk about ISN Maskwa for Business Day up at IVC! Syndi Hourtovenko & Ernie Louttit, proud members of Missanabie Cree engaged with those in attendance to share information about Maskwa & what we've been up to!

ISN Maskwa brought the Wildland Firefighter training home to Missanabie Cree FN! The group of now graduates, completed the training up at Missanabie Cree First Nation's Island View Camp, enhancing their skills with the training, equipment and PPE.

Condolences from ISN Maskwa on the sudden passing of Assembly of Manitoba Grand Chief Cathy Merrick's family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. As a leader, she changed countless lives. May her spirit journey be peaceful—her legacy will live on.
