Tonight we're celebrating the 340th anniversary of the birth of the dominican nun, writer and reformer Juliana Morell (1594-1653) with Georgina Rabassó, PhD at Universitat de Barcelona with a paper 'Literary Eternity: Nun Authors and Female Conventual Writing in the Early Modern Period'
Thanks to Dr. Kathleen Sprows Cummings for a great paper on female religious and 'questing' today. Lots of good research questions raised, not least the importance of exploring vocations from a non-statistical perspective.
Thanks to all who participated in a great post-paper discussion!
Our session next month will take place on Wednesday 3 April. Dr. Kathleen Sprows Cummings will speak to us on 'Questing: Vocation, Migration, and the Study of Catholic Sisters'.
