Day 2 16th ISELV kicked off with Tetsuto Miyashita covering some great new work in his keynote. He has scanned and reconstructed 3D internal anatomy of the cheeky osteostracan Norselaspis
Jumping on That Damn Phone to celebrate Vishruth Venkat’s first conference repping the #coateslab, presenting his research on lateral line development at 16th ISELV!
Continuing the #coateslab highlights, today Abigail Caron presented her first in-person paleo talk on the precious Pennsylvanian pisce with phylogenetic portents Trawdenia at 16th ISELV! Some really marvelous CT scans and detailed anatomy expertly discussed!
Having the strongest sense of FOMO to not be joining my “early verts” family and colleagues at 16th ISELV in Valencia, Spain, this week. It’s my favourite meeting by far and some Mediterranean sun would be lovely right now…
Had an awesome time at 16th ISELV! Powering through the post disco exhaustion
Home after ten days away in San Francisco and Valencia. Had a brilliant time at 16th ISELV with most of the @Palaeo_Bham fossil fish crew. I felt *super* nervous giving an in-person talk but I couldn’t have asked for a nicer audience to give it to! Now to sleep for a week 😴
What better way to wrap up the amazing 16th ISELV meeting than a sunset seaside swim? Thanks to Vishruth Venkat Ben Otoo Abigail Caron for a memorable couple of days exploring the city - I’ll be sad to leave Valencia tomorrow, but definitely come back someday!
