As we mark 30 years since the Beijing Declaration + Platform for Action, today I welcomed Women Speakers of Parliament to #15SWSP. In 1995, 10% of Speaker seats were held by women. Today that has risen to 21.2%. This is transformative + irreversible - but the pace is too slow.

Today we meet with Speakers of #Parliaments in Geneva🇨🇭, an apt location considering it is the city of multilateralism, and IPUparliament's HQ. In this vital year for women and girls, let us work together to achieve our goal of leading for inclusive and lasting peace. #6WCSP
