IOM - UN Migration 🇺🇳 is facilitating a workshop with 20+ lead climate negotiators in the region to improve inclusion of human mobility in the UN Climate Change process, strengthening inclusive responses to climate change.

Together with UNHCR South Sudan, we handed over newly constructed transitional shelters to displaced communities in Malakal.
These safe, secure and dignified shelters will cater to the accommodation needs and support their re-integration.

At the PSEA Deep Dive Study review & #SEA Country wide Assessment workshop, DSRSG/RC/HC Kiki Gbeho reminded that SEA is a serious human rights violation, it is a betrayal of trust that harms beneficiaries. She called on all stakeholders to recommit and double efforts to end SEA.

With support from Swiss Humanitarian Aid Unit, we have set up a field wastewater lab to improve our faecal sludge management systems in Bentiu and Malakal. The lab will help monitor waste #water to prevent water-borne diseases and protect the environment.

IOM South Sudan under the BMM programme funded by EU in South Sudan and Bundesentwicklungsministerium, is currently training border officials in Wau & Aweil towns at the South Sudan-Sudan border.

These officials will acquire new skills to facilitate safe, orderly & humane migration.

IOM recently signed an MoU with the South Sudan Government to launch the second phase of Enhancing Community Resilience & Local Governance project in Upper Nile State.
