Today, U.S. Embassy Burundi's Chargé d’Affaires bid farewell to 28 refugees at IOM Burundi 🇺🇳's transit center, as they embark on their #resettlement journey to the United States.

With Population, Refugees, and Migration Bureau's support, IOM Burundi has resettled 1,555 refugees to the 🇺🇸 from October 2023 to date.

Since 2021, IOM 🇧🇮 has remained dedicated to assist migrants like Habonimana in restoring their lives with dignity.

IOM's response to durable solutions includes the provision of dignified shelter solutions to climate-affected populations.

Two weeks ago, IOM Burundi 🇺🇳 provided livelihood support and access to healthcare to returnee women in Province Rutana.

Thanks to Population, Refugees, and Migration Bureau's support, these interventions facilitate their #reintegration and address vulnerabilities upon their return.

Last week's heavy rains led to severe flooding in Buterere, affecting 2,939 people and displacing 1,100 individuals within 24 hours.

Today, IOM 🇧🇮, w/ Ambassade du Japon au Burundi🇯🇵🇧🇮's support, is providing emergency assistance, including non-food and hygiene items to 173 vulnerable households.
