Yesterday, I joined Indiana DNR at Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana to share how hunters can help hungry Hoosiers. Deer firearms hunting season began over the weekend, and the need for protein donations remains an issue in our state.

Today, we gathered at Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana with Indiana First Lady Janet Holcomb to kick off our #IndianaHuntforHunger campaign. The effort turns donated deer into healthy venison that is provided to through food banks across the state. How you can help: bit.ly/3QL212p

We've added 158 acres of upland prairie and wetland to the Mallard Roost Wetland Conservation Area in Noble County. The Buchanan Unit, contains habitat for quail, turkey, pheasant and other birds. Details: bit.ly/49fsnSN

.Governor Eric Holcomb was on hand with our many partners in this project, including Indiana Natural Resources Foundation, The National Wild Turkey Federation and and Northeast Indiana Partnerships and Preservation donors. Project was funded by Next Level Conservation Trust grant. Area will be managed by IN Fish & Wildlife.
