It’s the iNaturalist #CityNatureChallenge 26-29th April where citizen scientists ID & record a many different bird, insect, plant , amphibian, fungi etc species possible on the iNaturalist free app.

Big thanks to our 24 volunteers who litterpicked Sefton Park today. We filled 40 bags today while supporting Liverpool Streetscene Services Ltd who topped up our bags ready for next Litterpick 19/05 🚮

We attended the Liverpool Parks Friends Forum this morning and it’s always a great time to see the other Friends groups in the city and what we all do collectively to ensure our parks look good and remain free, open and for everyone all of the time 💚

Bird song of Sefton Park 🐦🎶

The song thrush sings at sunset while Noctule bats are out of hibernation and darting around the lake catching insects which can only mean one thing…bat detecting season has started!🦇📡

A rabbit has been found and caught near Sefton Park. It cannot stay with the person who rescued it as they have dogs at home.

Can anyone help find it a secure place at an animal rescue place locally?

We’ll get some research done on this but in the meantime, we’re doing a bioblitz of the park in/05/24 (Sefton Park’s birthday) sampling water, soil, bird and insect ID and a bee walk!
