I oppose HB 303. It would further build in funding inequities into CPS! Why should neighborhood schools like my daughter's bear the burden of the anticipated budget shortfall? Also, we know there are are inequities by race/class in who admitted to SE schools. We need change!

When I say overly harsh penalties = less enforcement, this is what I'm describing: officers simply decide who has enough juice that they don't want to 'ruin his life over it,' vs. who should be targeted

We need all hands on deck! IL State Reps are working to amend HB303 to protect schools with selective admissions requirements. This amendment is more harmful than it is helpful. Neighborhood schools with the most need will see deeper cuts that they cannot afford!
