So sorry to miss the launch of this handsome MUP volume in the place itself on Monday. Contains my account of the history between 1830 and 1914 explaining both why Dean Cowie thought it possessed scarce any features of a cathedral beyond the name and why he was wrong!

1/2 Very sad to hear of the death of John Walsh. For a whole generation of Oxford trained historians of modern British religion he was our mentor, friend and supporter, modelling a kind and generous approach to scholarship with no sacrifice of rigour. I owe him so much.
