My work requires me to travel to small communities across northwestern Ontario fairly regularly. It’s super annoying that train service is too infrequent to be useful. I can get a sleeper class cabin for one for half the price of flight but I’d need to stay for 4 days…

Maybe the most surprising part about moving to the North End is the absolutely wild routes required to get to and from the airport. I’m hitting streets I didn’t even know existed. My downtown route had like 3 turns total. This has got to have at least 20 turns.

It’s a crying shame that I can’t take a train from Winnipeg to Minneapolis. It’s not a far drive (in prairie terms) but I’d just much prefer to not drive. The success of Amtrak’s Borealis service gives me a glimmer of hope.
