As #Mpox remains a significant concern, the Kenya Red Cross continues to educate communities on the ground across Kenya to ensure their safety. Here are some travel advisory tips to help you stay safe.

.The South African Red Cross Society (SARCS) national and KwaZulu-Natal branch teams, with the support of IFRC Africa Pretoria Cluster, are verifying approximately 750 households severely affected by the June thunderstorms in Tongaat for Cash and Voucher assistance.

Since the declaration of the #Mpox epidemic, @IFRC and Cameroon Red Cross have participated in high-level meetings and awareness-raising activities in communities to make sure everyone is made aware of the virus and how to avoid it.

As a result of the torrential rains, the rivers are flooded, causing flooding in the Far North. Cameroon Red Cross volunteers are currently on the field providing assistance and registering affected people. More than 168,000 people are in genuine need of assistance. #Cameroon

.Croix-Rouge/RDC volunteers are working around the clock to raise community awareness about #mpox through mobile cinema in public spaces. @IFRC is supporting Red Cross teams' response in communities. Since 2022, DRC had 4,799 confirmed cases including 27 deaths as of 25 August 2024.

South Sudan is battling severe flooding in over 26 counties. On September 1, the South Sudan Red Cross mobilized volunteers and staff in Old Fangak to help communities rehabilitate dykes as floodwaters reached record levels.

Continuous torrential rains in upper Guinea caused flooding in 3 prefectures affecting over 100,240 people. Guinea RC is actively busy in helping affected communities in reaching out to safe locations. #IFRC approved #DREF is being enhanced to cater for newly affected regions.

Recently, our Cholera Support Program (CSP) took action with Zambia Red Cross Society visiting Mutanda Banda Market, Masauko Banda/Kanyama Health Post and George Market in Matero. Red Cross teams are educating communities on hygiene to prevent another cholera outbreak. #CholeraAwareness

In response to the severe flooding in Cameroon’s Far North region after peak rains, Cameroon Red Cross volunteers are working tirelessly to save lives and provide psychological support to those affected. Nearly 170,000 people are impacted and in urgent need of assistance.
