Last year I made €1m available to Local Authorities to clean up historic stockpiles of tyres & as a further support I made €700k available for a once off collection to remove old tyres from farms. I asked IFFPG to organise this collection. Irish Farmers' Association x.com/farmersjournal…

IFFPG are almost half way through collection days having collected over 18k tonnes plastic so far, thats enough plastic to have come from over 19 million bales!!! Irish farmers leading the way recycling!!

Jackie Harney from Moneygall, Co.Offaly pictured with the IFFPG's Liam Moloney,receiving a cheque for €2,500 towards silage making costs which she won in a draw at the recent Ploughing Championships. Jackie and her husband Tom jointly run a suckler farm. Massive congratulations.

With all the bring centres complete for 2022 it looks like we will have collected approx 36,000 tonnes of farm plastic, massive effort by all in the farming community. Irish farmers lead the way in Recycling!!!
