I feel corroborated: Last talk at #ICAME45 by Muhammad Shakir has a dedicated slide on feature selection for multivariate analysis (and use the very nice MFTE tagger).

I don't think I will ever forget one of the first researchers I had to introduce at a conference, I was so nervous! Now I recognise David Lorenz anywhere, especially when he presents with David Tizón-Couto from our own Uni 🤩

Well, ICAME45 is over, and what a wonderful conference it was, in such a beautiful location! Looking back across the Ría de Vigo from Cabo Estai, with some clouds moving in towards Illas Cíes #ICAME45

We are delighted to spread word that #ICAME46 is going to Vilnius next year!! Exciting things are yet to come! We’ll be looking forward to get together again on the other side of Europe ✈️

Final take-home insight from Reading Concordances in the 21st Century (RC21) workshop at ICAME45: concordancing is a key technique connecting distant and close reading. It needs theory development as a methodology, innovative algorithms and visualisations, and better integration into quantitative techniques.
