Kenya had an estimated 2,850,346 pregnancies in 2023, of which 1,435,988 were unintended pregnancies. 792,694 of unintended pregnancies ended in abortions. Ideally, abortions are downstream effects of unintended pregnancies, which to some extent implicates low contraception.
