Earlier today, Edward A. Kelly and I welcomed 100 local leaders to the International Association of Fire Fighters Communications Training Academy/Political Training Academies.

These intense week long courses give leaders the skills they need to #UniteFightOrganize for our members and their families.

Finished up another busy week yesterday with a shift on LAFD Ladder 93. A great conclusion to a week that included an IAFF-FC meeting at International Association of Fire Fighters HQ and virtually addressing the Alaska Professional Fire Fighters and Professional Fire Fighters of Utah with Edward A. Kelly.

A whirlwind week and a half wrapped up yesterday with a virtual address to the Professional Fire Fighters of Georgia conference yesterday.

Proud of the work our sisters and brothers are doing in the Peach State for our members and their families.

Please join me in congratulating and thanking my friend, and Lead Fire Ground Survival (FGS) Instructor, Andy Ruiz on his last assignment with the FGS program today in San Francisco.

#Today in #IAFF history: #LEGCON was held under its new name, the Alfred K. Whitehead Legislative Conference, for the first time in 2001.

The conference was named after the union’s 8th General President by IAFF Convention delegates in 2000.

Proud to be with our brothers & sisters of the International Association of Fire Fighters First District at their district conference.

District conferences are a great opportunity for our IAFF Headquarters Staff to share with local leaders all the services that are available from their International Union.

Politics matters.

For 7 years, their former mayor fought Houston Firefighters on paying their collectively bargained raises. Newly-elected Mayor Whitmire fixed that on Day 1.
