Yesterday #KingLear in cinemas on live link and Ian McKellen was amazing. If it gets a second showing, see it. Next week is Winters Tale from the Globe. My Shakespeare lunchtime lecture will be 12.30 in Hull Minster Oct 4th.

I have just had a thought. Toad-eater is a bowdlerization of turd-eater. Is this already known? I may have been helped by the happy chance that in Hull "toad" is pronounced "turd".
