Only one century as we now know. Coal consumption has increased much faster than expected when this was written.

Interesting the PM proudly claims his policy will not include/need mandates. Mandates - laws to prevent land clearing - are precisely how the 20 per cent emissions reduction (since 2005) - was achieved.

AEMO data on av. NEM wholesale prices in Q1 2022 shows more coal = higher prices, more renewables = lower prices. Qld $150/MWh, SA $71/MWh. Renewable shares of generation: Qld 15%, SA 76%. Coal shares Qld 70%, SA 0.
